Art to take to the outside wall at Conrad Elementary

It's not often that students are urged to put some paint on the outside walls of a school, but for students at Conrad Elementary on the city's east side, a wall mural project that is in the works will allow them to help create the latest of outdoor art works for the community.

Conrad will be the canvas for an outdoor
mural project
As we noted in our look at the notes coming out of the May 14th School Board meeting, the Conrad project has been given the full support from Board Trustees.

The creative work which is a collaboration between SD52 and Redesign Rupert will be coordinated by North Coast artist Kelli Clifton, the highly acclaimed North Coast artist who is also employed by SD52.

The art project will feature 3 seals popping out of the waves, with four seals beneath along with salmon eggs further below.

The Conrad mural will make for the second urban outdoor art project for the year so far, last week on the blog we took a look at the latest plan from Transition Prince Rupert, which along with the Argosy on Third Avenue West will be holding their own mural creation in June.

You may find some updates on the art project once it is launched through the Conrad School twitter feed.
