The Guide which is the work of Matt J. Simmons features descriptions and mapping information for over 60 trails that can be found in the Prince Rupert area, the original edition went out of print back in 2016.
Published by Prince Rupert's Muskeg Press, owner Chris Armstrong shared some of his enthusiasm for the return of the highly regarded work.
“We’re very grateful that we can release a 2nd edition of this very popular book. We knew there was pent-up demand for another edition of the book, and indeed we’ve already gotten quite a few pre-orders prior to launch.”
Mr. Simmons lived in Prince Rupert for a number of years before returning to the Bulkley Valley, he currently publishes the Independent magazine Northword out of Smithers.
He offered up a preview of what's ahead for edition number two, as well as some thanks to those who carve out the trails from the Northwest wilderness.
“I wanted it to be a fun book to read, with interesting photos, and also something with a practical application. You know, grab the book, check out a trail, take it with you and actually experience it for yourself. I also just want to give a huge thanks to everyone who go out and make the trails, and I am very, very, very grateful to all the people who supported it and continue to support it to this day.”
