As day number two of the ongoing enforcement of the court injunction related to the Coastal GasLink continues today along the Morice Forest Service Road, the MP for the region has issued his first statement since arrests were made on Thursday in the territory of the Wet'suwet'en.
Skeena Bulkley-Valley MP Taylor Bachrach used his Facebook portal yesterday to express his disappointment that the recent discussions that had been held with the help of former MP Nathan Cullen had not brought success, observing how the current situation does not resemble his thoughts on reconciliation.
Earlier this week, Mr. Bachrach spoke to the ongoing tensions of the region asking the the Prime Minister become personally involved in the discussions with those in the Wet'suwet'en area.
The Prime Minister at the time noted that it was a provincial matter and expressed his confidence in how the provincial NDP government was approaching the issue.
Yesterday, the RCMP made six arrests as they moved towards the first of a number of blockades that are in place along the Morice Forest Service Road, they had set up an exclusion zone earlier in the day prior to the start of their enforcement of the court order.
