Shames Mountain soared above the other finalists in the eyes of Northwest voters, with the popular ski hill just west of Terrace selected by those who cast a vote as the Prince Rupert Port Authority's Community Investment Project of the Decade.

The success for Shames came following a one month preview period, where those following the Port's Social Media feeds and website were offered a review of the ten projects that stood out over the last ten years.

The deadline for voting came on December 31st.

With their fame atop the findings, Shames Mountain will also benefit with an additional 10,000 dollars towards a future project.

And while the folks at Shames and those who make use of the hills for recreation celebrate, the work for the next ten years of Community Investment projects is underway.

As of this past Monday, the window of opportunity for applications for the 2021 call for submission was opened, with the deadline for applications for this year set to come on February12th.
