Air Canada Service suspension making for energized commentary on Mayor's Social Media Page

With just a few days having passed since Air Canada dropped a bombshell announcement on the community, advising of the suspension of air service for the second time in just one year.

The topic is now roiling the social media page for Prince Rupert mayor Lee Brain.

As we outlined earlier this week, the first word of the pending suspension of service came out Tuesday evening with reports from the Globe and Mail of a number of service cuts across Canada including Prince Rupert.

That was followed by an official announcement on the suspended service from Airport Manager Rick Leach on Wednesday.

The Mayor reposted that announcement to his social media page later that day and since that time, Prince Rupert residents have offered up a range of opinion and commentary related to the state of air travel in and out of the city.

Among some of the observations and suggestions relayed to date.

You can review the full list and join in on the discussion yourself if you wish from the Mayor's Facebook page.
