The traditional forest of electoral signs for the Municipal campaign of 2022 has its first billboard  in place, with Councillor Wade Niesh's sign announcing his quest for another term on Prince Rupert City Council now in a prominent placement.

So far, the sign at Second West and McBride is the only communication from the councillor, with no notes to be shared through Social media to this point as to his campaign themes for the period leading up to the October 15th day of voting.

Though considering his strong endorsements of the past of the work of the 'team' assembled on Council from 2018's election returns.

It's probably safe to suggest he'll be running on the Council record of the last four years, as well as to carry on the work that has evolved to this point as he seeks a third consecutive term in the council chamber.

In the 2018 campaign Mr. Niesh gained 1,811 votes, placing fourth among the six councillors who found success in that race for Council.

He was first elected in 2014 in that vote he received 2,119 in an election which featured a high profile Mayoralty contest, had a larger turnout than the more recent trip to the polls.

His entry marks the second incumbent council member to announce, Councillor Gurvinder Randhawa previously announced his plan to seek another term in August.

That leaves Councillors Adey, Cunningham and Skelton-Morven to share their intentions for the campaign ahead.

Both Mayor Lee Brain and Councillor Blair Mirau announced earlier this year that they would not be running in the 2022 municipal campaign.
