Prince Rupert Rampage dig into the ice October 8th to launch 2022-23 season

The noise of the Mad House on McBride returns to the Jim
on October 8th when the Prince Rupert Rampage open up their
2022-23 season with a home match up with Hazelton

Rampage fans can circle October 8th on the calendar, or put the date into their phones, that's the night that Prince Rupert's CIHL Senior Men's team hits the ice for 2022-23 with the Hazelton Wolverines in town for the ice breaker to the season.

The October 8th contest launching an eight game home calendar, along with 8 trips on the road to take hockey fans through the fall and winter to the season ending home game of February 4th against Smithers.

In between will come some familiar teams to knock on the door of the Jim, each in quest of stealing a win from the home side Rampage.

Included among the highlights the annual visit of the Cariboo teams and local rivalries with Terrace, Kitimat and Smithers.

On the road side, the longest journey for the Rampage for the year comes up in mid December when they head into the Cariboo country and dates with Williams Lake and Quesnel.

The 2022-23 season brings a return of the Smithers Steelheads, the team having taken some time off owing to COVID in previous years, this year also however brings some competition for the hockey dollar in one key market with the Kitimat Ice Demons sharing ice now with the Kitimat Saax of the recently expanded GMTHL.

The league is an Ontario based Junior Circuit which now has a Western division,  over the summer they placed teams in Kitimat and Burns Lake for 2022-23.

The Rampage Home owner once again has the team asking fans to wear Orange in support of their ongoing work and awareness program towards Every Child Matters.

As we outlined earlier this month, the team has also taken on a leadership role in minor sports in the community, this year raising funds to assist Prince Rupert Minor Basketball with its registration program to help build the sport back up in the community.

The Rampage also outlined how they will be lending a hand to Prince Rupert Minor Hockey, noting that they will be working with the PRHMA to help build up their registration as well.

We are going to work together with Prince Rupert Minor Hockey, KidSport, and fundraising efforts with Rupert Rampage to make this a reality. BUILD BACK HOCKEY!

We need to raise enough money to make 2023 Minor Hockey Registration Fees FREE or as close to FREE as we can get. It's so obvious (with Minor Basketball’s numbers doubling this year) we have to make hockey affordable for all!

RUPERT RAMPAGE 1st ANNUAL UGLY SWEATER PARTY, Saturday December 17, 2022 Featuring Triple ByPass & The Rats! ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE PARTY WILL GO TO PRINCE RUPERT MINOR HOCKEY 2023 REGISTRATIONS.

As well the team plans to host a Cash Raffle with Prince Rupert Minor Hockey (sometime in January), again with all proceeds going to Prince Rupert Minor Hockey Registration 2023.

Brett Stava, the President of the Prince Rupert Rampage expanded on their programs through the teams Social media stream last week
