Northern Health moves forward with Bid request towards design of Source Water Treatment plant for Prince Rupert Regional Hospital and Acropolis Manor

Northern Health has launched a call for Bids towards
water treatment supply treatment infrastructure program for
the rear of the Hospital on the Summit Avenue Side of the Facility

While the City of Prince Rupert moves forward towards a day sometime in the future when our water supply infrastructure means we can leave bottled water behind with some confidence, Northern Health is making their own plans to ensure that they are addressing the numerous issues with the municipal water system at a pair of local health facilities.

A Request for Proposals was  placed with BC Bid  on Friday that seeks out bids towards a single plant operation at the top of Summit Avenue to serve both Prince Rupert Regional Hospital and Acropolis Manor.

The scope of the situation at the facilities and Northern Health's ambitions was provided as part of the Bid package from Friday.

As part of their information package for prospective suppliers of services, Northern Health has included a 2021 report into the issue that provided for Design and Cost analysis of the project.

Among the notes for the Bid process is a recap of the City's water issues from 2018 on, which have framed much of the Northern Health decision to create their own Source Water supply Treatment  infrastructure program.

The proposed facility would be located on the Summit Avenue side of the Hospital Facility.

The full overview of what Northern Health has in mind for the Prince Rupert facilities can be found on the BC Bid website, the Deadline for proposals to Northern Health is noted as October 13th at 2PM.
