Thanksgiving Food Drive brings in large volume of donations, but short of recent year totals

Saturdays one day blitz of Prince Rupert homes by the volunteers with the Prince Rupert Thanksgiving Food Drive the group finding some generosity from the community,  noting through their Social Media page over the weekend that they had collected over 3,800 pounds of food donations for the local food bank.

That haul is smaller than in recent years with the 2021 tour bringing in just over 4,200 pounds of canned goods and other items, and a distance away from the mark of two years ago which saw over 5,300 pounds collected.

Some residents may have been caught by surprise by the arrival of the annual drive, with some residences only receiving their bags for fill up the night before and perhaps were not ready for the Saturday morning call for donations.

Should you not have received a bag or were missed contact the group through Facebook to see how you can still donate if you with to this years program.

The Food collected will be delivered to the Salvation Army Food Bank program.
