The roar in the streets returns this Saturday as Prince Ruperts Harley Riders and other motorcycle enthusiasts in the city and beyond head out in aid of the Salvation Army in the community.

The annual even which goes back over forty years, has raised over 700,000 dollars over the years, helping towards the annual Christmas Toy program at the Salvation Army and other initiatives.

The ride has brought over 100 riders to the streets of the city on occassion, as the motorcyclists depart from Grenville Court in the downtown core and transit to places around the region.

Those looking to get a head start in supporting the ride can take advantage of the efforts of Sum Shockin' Good who will be set up at the Save On Foods parking lot on Friday, as well as on Saturday the day of the Ride,  which will see the riders head out from Grenville Court at Noon hour.

In addition to the help for local causes, participants have a chance to win the 50/50 draw, along with the poker games along the way that make for the tradition of forty years.

This year the Big Wrap up Event is back as well, with the post Run activities to take place at the Moby Dick Pub, a Prince Rupert favourite the Surfer Dudes on the bill for the night with the dancing music for the finale to the Run.

The weather forecast for Saturday suggests a pretty enjoyable day for a ride, with Sunshine and fourteen degrees among the latest notes from Environment Canada.
