City of Prince Rupert reminds residents of Change to Garbage/Recycling collection cycle for Remembrance Week

With next Friday, November 11th, a Statutory Holiday as part of our Remembrance Day commemoration, the City of Prince Rupert is reminding residents of a shift in the Garbage and Recycling schedule for Remembrance Day Week from November 7-10.

The city made use of their App program on Wednesday to share the update:

The information flow no doubt will follow through the City Website and Social media feed as the week comes to a close.

As for next week and the public commemoration for Remembrance Day, as it has over the decades, the front lawn of the Courthouse on McBride Street will be Prince Rupert's gathering spot as residents pay tribute to those who served our nation.

The parade forms up between 10:30 and 10:45 with the march to Cenotaph to take place prior to the 11AM start for the ceremony.

Residents of the North Coast can pick up their poppies at a number of local stores and services.

More on the Remembrance Day plans to come next week.

Further notes on Civic Operations can be reviewed from our archive page.
