Highway 16 to close for three hours Friday for Avalanche control

Highway 16 is scheduled to be closed Friday from 10:30 to 1:30 PM
as CN Rail conducts avalanche control work along the highway area

Depending where they are, travellers between Terrace and Prince Rupert will have three hours extra to spend in each community on Friday with highway 16 set to be closed between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM

The closed stretch of the highway swill be from the Port Edward Turnoff area to the Shames Mountain Road.

The closure comes as CN and the Highways Department conduct avalanche control work between Telegraph Point Rest Area and the Kasiks River Bridge through the morning period into the afternoon.



The notice for the pending road closure came Thursday evening from Drive BC
