The Public Alert Map from Environment Canada is filling in with red as we head towards mid day Saturday, with a pair of Warnings in effect for both the North Coast Inland region and Haida Gwaii.
For Haida Gwaii, the Warning is for a Wind event with a very intense Pacific front making its way across the Islands today, bringing winds of up 120 km/h with it.

For the North Coast Inland regions Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning, with between 15 to 25 cm of snow expected, Stewart is the community set to be the bulls eye for the bulk of the precipitation.
Terrace and Kitimat are expected to receive from 5 to 15 cm of snow as the system arrives.

So far the North Coast, coastal areas, including Prince Rupert have not been placed under any form of Alert or Warning by the weather service. Winds however are expected to increase to 60 to 80 km/h by this evening with 20 mm of rain expected through the day.
The Marine Forecast continues to call for Hurricane force winds up to 65 knots today with seas building to 7 metres overnight.
