Strong winds from the Southeast of 80 to 100 kilometres per hour have been forecast for last this afternoon in advance of an approaching Pacific frontal system heading towards the the North and Central coast.

Along with the Wind Warnings, a Storm Warning has been issued for Marine areas off of Haida Gwaii and the North Coast with winds increasing to 50 knots by the afternoon diminishing through the evening and overnight. Waves will reach up to 6 metres at the height of the weather system.

The nasty weather won't reach the North Coast until Sunday, as winds build overnight to a peak of 80 km/h by Sunday morning, the accompanying periods of rain will set the tone for the forecast for the remainder of the week.
