Snow/sleet blaze the trail east bound beyond Tyee overpass

Those heading eastbound this evening will want to ease up on the accelerator and be prepared for winter driving conditions as the oncoming frontal system that is bringing rain to Prince Rupert turns to snow in the east.

The snow appears to pick up around the Kasiks area, with Highway cameras through to Witset (Moricteown) offering up the latest status of the highways of the Northwest.

The snow is particularly heavy in the Kitimat region heading into the evening hours.

10 cm of snow is anticipated for Terrace tonight,  15 cm for Kitimat with only 5 cm expected to fall in the Smithers area.
