Four Days of Advance Polling get underway today

Residents of the North Coast that may wish to cast their ballot in advance of the October 19th election day have four opportunities this weekend to beat the rush and mark their X.

The four days of advance polling offer those that aren't going away for the Thanksgiving Weekend the chance to cast a ballot, though we suggest from experience perhaps that one might wish to mark their ballot before the large Turkey dinner with the family.

As once the tryptophan takes hold, rising from the couch is probably a challenge for many of us, even if it is to exercise your rights in a democracy.

Elections Canada offices will be hosting Advance Polls through the weekend as follows.

Friday, October 9 -- Noon to 8 PM
Saturday, October 10 -- Noon to 8 PM
Sunday, October 11 -- Noon to 8 PM
Monday, October 12 -- Noon to 8 PM

Advance Polling in Prince Rupert takes place at the Elections Canada Office located in the old NIS location at 227 1st Avenue East, across from the Hecate Strait Society and just up the hill from the Atlin Terminal.

Those living in other areas of the North Coast, or on Haida Gwaii can find their local Elections Canada office from this search engine.

Residents recently received an information pamphlet from Elections Canada in the mail, if you have misplaced it, or perhaps recycled it already, here's some background on what it had to offer.

You can learn more about advance polling, voter registration notes and other items related to the 2015 vote from the Elections Canada website here.
