Halloween Fest plans in place for Saturday night Spooktacular

The nights are getting closer to the 2015 edition of the popular Halloween Fest at the city's Jim Ciccone Civic Centre and Earl Mah Aquatic Centre, with organizers putting the final plans in place for Saturday's event.

This weekend marks the 29th annual night for Halloween Fest which will feature games, prizes, a costume parade and candy treats for those that participate.

The Civic Centre doors open at 6 PM with activities continuing on until 8 PM.

As well, there are two Swim events planned for the evening, with a Children's Halloween Swim (Ages 12 and under) planned from 6:30 to 8:30, while the teens (Ages 13-18) take to the pool from 8
PM to 10 PM

Weather permitting, the annual Halloween Fireworks Display will take place starting at 8:15 PM, with Mount Hays making for the backdrop to the bursts in the sky.

As it is with many of the local events, volunteers make for the backbone of the evening and if you can lend a hand you are asked to contact the Halloween Fest organizers at 250-62GHOST (250-624-4678).
