After four months away from the day to day debate of the Legislature, MLA's returned from their home constituencies this week to launch the fall session in the provincial capital.
The week in Victoria was dominated by the announcement of Tuesday that the LNG Canada project in Kitimat would be going ahead, the Premier, Prime Minister and a number of other officials all in attendance at the Vancouver signing ceremony to bring the long anticipated terminal development to the north end of Douglass Channel.

Ms. Rice made mention of the decision through her social media feed, as well as with a radio interview with Terrace's CFNR Radio.
Emergency Planning continued to be the focus for North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice, who had made use of her first appearance back in the Legislature to speak to some of the fires and floods that British Columbians had faced during the summer sabbatical for the Chamber.
Skeena MLA Ellis Ross spent Tuesday in Vancouver taking part in the LNG announcement that will see the terminal build in the Haisla Nation. For his first appearance in the Legislature for the fall session he spoke of the announcement, incorporating it as part of a larger commentary related to the Provincial government't Bill 39 outlining the elements of their Poverty Reduction Strategy Act.

On the week, Ms Rice was listed twice in the accounts of the sessions of the Legislature from October 1 to 4 .
In the Legislature, the North Coast MLA Monday, made two statements in the Chamber, the first to recap her work over the summer as the wildfires and floods of the last four months left a number of communities to rebuild across the province.
Her follow up address of Tuesday was to celebrate the thirty five years that Ridley Terminals has been operating on the North Coast.

The North Coast MLA is also a permanent member of the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, serving as the convener of that forum.

For our readers from the Terrace-Kitimat region, this week found Skeena MLA Ellis Ross mentioned once for his work in the Legislature from October 1 to 4 .
On Thursday afternoon, Mr. Ross spoke towards Bill 39, which is the British Columbia government's proposed Poverty Reduction Strategy Act, he brought his perspective both on a personal nature and from his time as Chief Councillor for the Haisla Nation.
As part of his comments for the Legislature, Mr. Ross made note of this week's announcement to develop the LNG Canada terminal on Haisla territory and how the opportunities that it offers will help the community to address the issue. Adding how the province should review the work of the Haisla Nation over the last fourteen years as they move forward on their poverty reduction strategy.
