More staffing changes at the Northern View |
When readers grab their print copy of the Northern View later today they'll notice a missing byline from the local news beat, with reporter Jenna Cocullo seemingly no longer part of the team at the Fraser Street paper.
Her snapshot has been removed from the listings from the e-edition of the paper posted today and a scan of past stories would seem to suggest that her last contribution for the paper was in late January, you can review some of her past work here.
The latest change carries on a theme that has been found at the paper for the last few years, as editors and reporters come and go, some to new positions in the media, others to new opportunities in other careers.
In the case of Ms. Cocullo, there does not appear to be any farewell story afforded to her as is normally the case for departing journalists.
Something which is unfortunate, considering the time she put in on the North Coast and the volume of stories and connections in the community that she made. That as she covered a volume of news and feature stories over the last eight months that she was at the Fraser Street News desk.
Ms Cocullo's apparent departure comes following the arrival of KJ Millar who introduced herself in early January, offering up a snapshot of her background and focus for her work in Prince Rupert.
The apparent change in staffing leaves the paper with two working journalists at the moment with Alex Kurial mostly covering the sports beat, pending any further looming changes to the bylines and photographs at the weekly.
