It's the first step in the door for many a career in Northern BC and this week an new group of eager young students will begin the process to get a spot in the Northern Development Initiative Trust's 2020 Internship Program.
The program which has a long track record of success across the North has positions available for recent graduates of post-secondary education, with a 12 month paid internship that offers up and coming professionals an opportunity to work in any number of communities in the Northern region.
The Prince Rupert area will be the host for Two Internships this year.
One with North Coast Regional District under the Local Government program.
The other with Community Futures Pacific Northwest internship part of the Business Development program
There is also a position available on Haida Gwaii with the Village of Masset.
