British Columbia marks Burn Awareness Week with data themes and safety tips

British Columbia is a couple of days into a week of observation and information  related to Burn Awareness Week with a focus on prevention and safety messaging.

The week began on Sunday and through the days leading up to February 12th the BC office of the Fire Commissioner is providing for a wide array of information sharing and statistical review.

Much of their overview notes of the dangers found in the kitchen which saw 680 of the 3,287 fires in 2021 caused by incidents with Cooking equipment.

Also of note from the data review the rise of fire caused deaths in the province  in recent years.
