The first week of the Spring Session was a short one, at just five sessions in the week; the Speech from the Throne of Tuesday charting the NDP government's agenda for the months ahead.
The three regional MLA's eased into the pace of the new session with both MLA's Rice and Cullen speaking during the week, while MLA Ellis Ross was somewhat out of the spotlight after a hectic weekend of a BC Liberal leadership contest which saw the Skeena MLA come in second to Kevin Falcon.

On the week, Ms Rice was mentioned once in the record for the week in the Legislature from February 7-11
Ms. Rice spoke is support of the provincial government's efforts towards the recovery of Lytton, that as part of debate on Bill 2 which was the focus for the Thursday session.
Of note for the North Coast-Haida Gwaii this week was an announcement by the government which has expanded the size and protection for Naikoon Park on the east coast of the island.
The MLA put more focus to those themes through her social media stream through the week.

For our readers from the Terrace-Kitimat region, Skeena MLA Ellis Ross was not mentioned in the record for the week in the Legislature from February 7-11
After a fairly high profile over the last few months as the BC Liberal leadership went into the homestretch, the Skeena MLA was less prominent in the news cycle for the week.
He was assigned duties in the new Shadow Cabinet of Kevin Falcon, resuming his past interests as Opposition Critic for Energy and LNG.
The Skeena MLA is not currently assigned to any Parliamentary committees
The Skeena MLA also addressed a range of themes featured as part of the MLA's social media work.

For our readers from the Bulkley Valley area, Stikine MLA Nathan Cullen was mentioned oncee in the record for the week in the Legislature from February 7-11.
The topic of discussion for Mr. Cullen in the Tuesday afternoon session was a tribute to Earl Muldon, the highly acclaimed Indigenous artist and community leader in the Stikine region who passed away earlier this year.
As the week progressed, he also used his social media stream to relay information and guidance on the ongoing emergency situation in the province.
The Stikine MLA is not currently assigned to any Parliamentary committees
