With the recent Tsuanami alert for the North Coast from mid January still fresh in everyone's minds, the District of Port Edward has provided some information for residents, to provide guidance on what to do should the situation require some attention.
Yesterday, the District released a Map of the community highlighting where residents should assemble in case of Tsunami, along with some background on how to use the map and information provided.
Among some of their guidance, Plan and identify the route you will walk to reach safety from your home or workplace. Discuss the Tsunami Hazard with your family and co‐workers. Everyone should know what to do when a Tsunami follows a major earthquake
The District also recommends that residents visit the Alert Ready website to downown their app for emergency alerts for your phone/mobile device.click to enlarge |
