With lifting of some COVID measures in BC, ANBT planning moves forward towards April 2nd opening

With the province laying out its plans yesterday  to eliminate some of the current Public Health Measures in place as part of the provincial COVID response, the planning for the Annual All Native Basketball Tournament can move forward with a bit more certainty.

The Tournament which had been scheduled for this month, had previously been rescheduled to April 2nd to 9th in hopes that the recent surge in COVID would have passed through the province allowing for the tournament to go forward.

And with Tuesday's announcement removing capacity limits on events, the Tournament path is now now that can count on full attendance an important element for a tournament that depends on both attendance and sponsorship.

The ANBT committee outlining how they welcomed the announcement and now move on towards the first tip off in April.

The removal of the restrictions, which goes into effect as of midnight tonight,  will also be of importance to local bars and clubs which will be able to reopen.

Making the first week of April as a potential period of business that hasn't been seen locally in a number of years.

As for the tournament, still to come from the ANBT will be the release of the schedules for the competition ahead, providing for the opportunity to explore the match ups and to chart the path ahead towards a championship berth.

Also to come more information on ticket options and other themes of note for the tournament.

You can keep up with the tournament developments through the ANBT Facebook page.
