Prince Rupert RCMP expand on increased Social media use

The Prince Rupert RCMP has outlined some of the elements
of their recent increase in Social Media messaging

The recent push by the Prince Rupert detachment of the RCMP towards their sharing of information through Social Media has provided an opportunity for a bit of a tutorial for Mounties on how they are using the engagement platforms in the community.

A Monday evening post to the local Detachment's website page provides some of the background to their efforts, with a particular focus on their #WantedWednesday feature which has drawn attention to case files that they are seeking the assistance of the public on.

As well they provide some notes on how the BC Prosecution service works and how that impacts on their presentation of information for the public.

Of note from the information release, the hopes to move forward with more in person public engagement as elimination of the COVID related public health orders and restrictions begins to take effect allowing for more community focus to come it would appear.

The local detachment features a website, which is where all of their announcements can be reviewed.

The Prince Rupert RCMP also host a Facebook page here.

Further notes towards the work of Emergency Responders in the Northwest can be reviewed from our archive page.
