The campaign over, newly elected BC Liberal Leader Kevin Falcon has quickly set about arranging for the shadow cabinet positions that will take their place today as the new session of the BC Legislature gets underway.

Relaying the news from the new leader was Interim Leader of the Official Opposition Shirley Bond, who issued a statement on Monday detailing the new assignments for BC Liberal MLA's, as well as to advise of her continued placement as Leader of the Opposition in the Legislature until Mr. Falcon contests and wins a seat.

“After speaking with the newly-elected Leader of the BC Liberal Party, Kevin Falcon, I am grateful to have been asked to remain in the role of Leader of the Official Opposition in the B.C. Legislature until Mr. Falcon has an opportunity to contest a seat that will lead to him officially taking his place as the Leader of the Official Opposition in the Legislature."

As for Mr. Ross, he returns to some familiar ground this morning, as he takes on the duties once again as Opposition Critic for Energy and LNG,  areas that  he has been vocal about since his first election to the Legislature.

The Skeena MLA finished second behind Mr. Falcon, claiming just under 27 percent of the vote of BC Liberals at the end of the fifth round of balloting on Saturday evening.

Also taking a prominent role in the new caucus is Todd Stone who was an early supporter for Mr. Falcon's campaign and has now been assigned the roles of House Leader, as well as critic for Jobs , Economic Recovery, Trade and Innovation.
