The shifting of the earth along the fault lines off of Haida Gwaii and Vancouver Island has been active again overnight, with the USGS making note of a 5.2 magnitude earthquake striking Southwest of Bella Bella at 2:15 this morning.
That would make its epicentre at 372 kilometres south of Prince Rupert, the location of this morning's quake is much the same territory as activity of December.
The temblor, the largest of the string of six previous that started rumbling late last month had a depth of 10 kilometres, No Tsunami Warning was generated by the early morning quake.
