Rampage put a wrap on 2014-15 season tonight at the Jim

The season will come to an end a lot earlier than the Prince Rupert Rampage and their fans would have liked liked, but sixty minutes or a bit after puck drop tonight at 8:00 PM, the Rampage will be hanging up their gear for the season.

A combination of Rampage losses and Kitimat Ice Demon wins down the final stretch of the regular season sealed the fate for Prince Rupert, as the Rampage began to slide out of the playoff hunt earlier this month, making tonight the last night of CIHL hockey for the north coast.

2014-15 was a year where the Rampage relied more and more on the younger members of the team, a bit of a baptism of fire for some, that for most of the season left the Rupertites on the wrong end of the scoreboard.

Heading into tonight's final match of the year, the Rampage sport a 2 and 13 record,

Facing off against the Terrace River Kings this evening they will be looking to add one more mark in the win column before calling it a season.

Terrace leads the West with 12 wins and 2 losses and perhaps will be resting some of their line up with the playoffs ahead, their 24 points but four shy of league leading Williams Lake who dominated the east and the CIHL overall this year with but one loss.

Beyond the quest for the win tonight, the younger members of the Rampage will be looking to showcase their work for the coaching staff, no doubt with an eye on next years roster and a possible shift in their placement on the depth chart.

With a bit of rebuild seemingly required for the off season, sending the right message in the final match up of the year should make tonight's season ender an entertaining affair at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.

You can follow the Rampage and make note of any last minute items for tonight's game through their Facebook page and twitter feed.
