Adverse Weather conditions bring Northern Expedition schedule revisions

A schedule revision is in effect for the Norther Expedition
for the next 24 hours

An approaching marine system heading towards Haida Gwaii and the North Coast is already having an impact on BC Ferries schedule for the next 24 hours with the Northern Expedition now sailing out of Prince Rupert at 6 AM on Tuesday, arriving at Skidegate at 11:59 AM.

The return trip departs Haida Gwaii at 4 PM with a 10 PM arrival at the Fairview Bay Terminal in Prince Rupert.

Environment Canada has issued a Gale warning for the Northern half of Hecate Strait, with winds increasing to 45 knots this evening, diminishing to near 30 knots by midnight. The Seas are anticipated bto be from 3 to 5 metres at the height of the systems arrival in area waters.

The Marine Forecast for the next 24 hours is calling for Gale Force winds
and heavy seas, resulting in some schedule changes for BC Ferries

Should the conditions warrant, BC Ferries may revise the schedule again on Tuesday to reflect any turn in the Marine Forecast.
