Heavy Winds mean sailing delay for Northern Expedition



Update: Sailing to Haida Gwaii has been further delayed, with latest estimated time for departure to be at 11 AM, more details here.

The approaching Pacific weather system is putting BC Ferries somewhat behind schedule tonight, leaving the Northern Expedition in port for the night with the departure from Prince Rupert to Skidegate now delayed until 9 AM on Monday morning, with a 4 PM arrival at the Haida Gwaii port.

The return trip to Rupert departs Skidegate at just before midnight on Monday with a Tuesday morning arrival at 7 AM at Fairview Terminal.



The waters off of Haida Gwaii and into Dixon Entrance and Hecate Strait are currently under a Storm Warning with winds of 48 to 63 knots currently being recorded this evening.



Storm Warnings are in effect for the waters of the North Coast this evening
