Prince Rupert Wal-Mart reopens following Monday evening fire

The doors re-opened to the Prince Rupert Wal Mart
following a small fire on Monday evening

It was business as usual shortly after 2:30 on Tuesday afternoon, as the city's Wal-Mart location at the Rupert Square reopened its doors to the public after staff had finished their clean up following a Monday evening fire.

Crews from Prince Rupert Fire Rescue responded shortly after 5:30 PM on Monday to a report of a small fire at the Prince Rupert store, taking little time in taking care of the situation.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire, however, the store remained closed through much of Tuesday as staff worked to clean up the area that suffered the after effects from the Monday incident.

The fire remains under investigation by Prince Rupert Fire officials and the RCMP.

As the doors re-opened Customers were back to their shopping routine while a number of store associates returned to their work at stocking shelves and answering customers questions.
