Northern Savings Credit Union parts ways with CEO Geoff Grodecki

More change is in the works for the top ranks at
Prince Rupert based Northern Savings

Northern Savings Credit Union will be back on the hunt to find a Chief Executive, with the Prince Rupert based financial institution noting on its website that Geoff Grodecki, the most recent hire as President and CEO has left the company.

In an undated message to members, Board Chair Flora D'Angelo outlined the steps that Northern Savings has taken in the wake of the CEO's departure, which was listed as effective immediately.

The notice did not provide any further background related to the exit from the corporate offices.

Mr. Grodecki joined Northern Savings in May of 2016 after the conclusion of a lengthy search by the financial institution which made use of a national executive search agency to fill the position.

His tenure at the helm of the organization checks in at less than eight months.

It's the second high profile departure for the Credit union in recent years, the Previous CEO Ken Doleman left the financial services organization in March of 2015, having served in that position for two years.

Northern Savings also saw Barry Delaney holding the position of interim CEO in the period between Mr. Grodecki and Mr. Doleman, Mr. Delaney's period at the helm saw the institution embark on a Strategic Review,  a period which saw a number of significant changes take place.

To address the current situation, the Board of Directors has appointed Fay Booker as their Interim CEO, in announcing her appointment Northern Savings notes that Ms. Booker will work with the Board to help to steward the Credit Union and ensure that services are effectively provided to Northern Savings members.

They also note that the management of the Credit Union will remain in place with Bill Nicholls continuing to act as the Vice President of Finance.

The Northern Savings Board also offered up some notes on personnel changes at the financial institution: 

The Change in Management announcement notes that the organization has recently hired Suzanne Wilson as the Vice President Human Resources & Communications, filling a vacancy left by the retirement of the previous Vice President.

As for the day to day operations at their branches across the region, the roster remains much as it has been in recent months with the following staff members continuing with their duties.

Branch Managers include Stefan Delloch in Prince Rupert, Grace Makowski in Terrace, Lareina Grosse in Masset, Alanah Mountifield in Queen Charlotte. With senior leaders for Commercial Credit and Retail Credit and Operations, Steve Dotto and Jackie Rumney all remaining in place.
