New Yacht Club taking shape on Cow Bay waterfront

Construction on the new Prince Rupert Yacht Club is moving forward on the waterfront

The construction pace has picked up significantly for the much anticipated new digs for the Prince Rupert Yacht Club, with a foundation in place and framing of the new structure now underway.

Work crews were taking advantage of the nice streak of summer weather as they put in place the ground floor level of the  multi-level building that will offer a new look to the Cow Bay waterfront area.

From design to launch of construction, the Prince Rupert Yacht Club
building is rising on the waterfront

The building will feature expanded capacity on site and a replica lighthouse that will provide for a modest output and glowing presence as opposed to the more traditional strobe effect found in working lighthouses on the coast.

The parking lot for the property will also be redesigned shifting to the western half of the site.

Some notes on what the project will look like upon completion can be found below:

The yacht club facility plays host to both local vessels and those of visitors to the community, with the summer months making the location a particularly busy location.

  1. Would have been nice to see that project awarded to a local contractor
