Highway 16 closed to traffic east of Terrace, owing to vehicle incident

Highway 16 was closed Friday morning owing to a vehicle incident east of Terrace
Update: Road has been re-opened to single lane alternating traffic, with delays of 20 minutes.



A motor vehicle incident along Highway 16 just east of Usk, has closed the main east west route between Terrace and Smithers this Friday afternoon.

The notification of the highway closure was issued by Drive BC just before the noon hour today, the Ministry of Transportation advises that no detour is available around the site of the incident and there is no estimated time for reopening of the highway.



The next update for the public is expected to be released at 2 PM.

That update will be available through the Drive BC website and twitter feed.

No details related to the nature of the vehicle incident have been released by the RCMP to this point.
