A call to the Fire Hall in Port Edward as the community looks to recruit volunteer firefighters for the community |
As the community looks ahead to a year of potential growth and industrial expansion, the District of Port Edward Volunteer Fire Department has put out a call for new members, looking to add to their roster of community minded volunteers that help keep the community safe.
The outline of the opportunities to serve were posted to range of Social Media feeds over the New Year's weekend, noting that the department welcomes participation from residents of the region with many coming from Prince Rupert to serve.
In addition to Fire protection in the District, the PEVFD is also tasked with many highway rescue calls, covering a large area of the North Coast as part of their territory of service.
