A Satelite snapshot outlines a string of weather systems set to make their way towards Haida Gwaii and the North Coast (from Environment Canada) |
January is feeling a lot like November this year as another marine weather system makes its way towards the Prince Rupert, making for another WIND WARNING for both residents of the North Coast and for those on Haida Gwaii.
The latest weather advisory was issued by Environment Canada earlier this morning and calls for strong Southeast winds of up to 90 km/h today, with another powerful weather system set to arrive again tomorrow.
The approaching weather system also means some heavy seas for all of the marine areas of the North Coast and Haida Gwaii, with a STORM WARNING currently in place with Winds of up to 60 knots ahead, and seas of up to 6 metres overnight.
The first of what has been a series of weather systems this week provided for some significant wind damage to areas of Haida Gwaii, while the Prince Rupert area did not suffer quite as much as had been forecast from the Monday warning that had been put in place.
