Ongoing adverse weather leaves Northern Expedition tied up for another sailing



The Northern Expedition is not getting a lot of sea time this week, with another marine system coming across Hecate Strait the 2PM departure for Skidegate today has been cancelled with an update from BC Ferries advising of the change this morning.

The announcement of the sailing cancellation comes as the North Coast enters the day under another Wind Warning for the region, with strong winds anticipated today and again on Friday.

For marine waters a Storm Warning is now in effect with winds of up to 60 knots later today and overnight easing by Friday evening, Seas will reach 5 metres today building again to 6 metres overnight.

It's the second sailing cancellation of the week for BC Ferries which cancelled a pervious Prince Rupert-Skidegate sailing on Monday.
