Another pacific front is forming up southwest of Haida Gwaii and is about to make its approach to the North Coast and with it will come strong winds and rain for today tonight and into Tuesday.
Environment Canada provided for the early warning of percolating storm with an WIND WARNING issued this morning, with Tuesday the period of most concern when winds of up to 110 kilometres per hour may be recorded in exposed coastal sections of the region.
As the Environment Canada forecast reads, the accompanying rain will be our companion for much of the week through to the weekend.
The approaching system has also brought a Hurricane Force Wind Warning for marine areas of Hecate Strait and all waters off of the North Coast and Haida Gwaii. With winds from the Southeast increasing to 70 knots by Tuesday morning before diminishing late into Tuesday evening.
