Air Canada is introducing Airbus service to Terrace today with three flights a week using the Airbus 320 146 passenger jet (From Air Canada website) |
The days of scheduled big jet service are coming back to the Northwest, with the Terrace airport announcing that Air Canada is making a change to its inventory and schedule with plans to introduce an Airbus 320 to the Terrace-Vancouver route starting with today's flight options.
The service will see a schedule of flights three times a week, the larger plane set to replace the smaller Q series aircraft which had been providing service as part of the number of flight options available through the Terrace-Kitimat airport.

The new Air Canada service will take place on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays, with room for 146 passengers and a Business Class offering for those making the trip. Air Canada is responding to growing demand from the Terrace market as part of their upgrade to the larger aircraft.
The Flights are noted as AC288 to Terrace which departs Vancouver at 1:10 and AC 289 to Vancouver which will depart Terrace at 4PM
The introduction of the larger plane will however also result in a reduction of the overall daily flight operations for travel between the two communities.
The Terrace airport also sees chartered jet service into and out of the community, with LNG the main contractor for those flights as they bring workers to the Kitimat region to work on the LNG terminal project.
