With a few changes of note; Port Edward fire fighters get an appreciative and fitting send off

There is a bit of a changing of the guard at the Port Edward Volunteer Fire Department these days, with the District seeing some retirements and other movement of personnel for their service

An occasion  for some recent social messaging from Deputy Chief Mike McDowall who offered up an update on the Department and some salutes for service.

In a number of photos shared on Twitter this week, the Deputy Chief reviews the changes taking place for the Department.

And while those members make for their new careers, or head off to new adventures, some of the current roster of Port Edward Firefighters will head off for additional training.

Deputy Chief McDowall noted for the North Coast Review that the Port Edward department is sending some of the Service members for training as part of a Liquid Propane Gas Level 1 Operations Firefighting Training Course.

Some valuable training for the department which has two LPG Terminals in close proximity to the community.

You can get a sense of the work ahead for the Port Ed contingent from this program overview.
