More frequent travel options for residents of Lax Kw'aalaams are ahead for the next few weeks, with an expanded schedule of sailings for the Lax Kw'alaams Ferry |
The growing volume of traffic to and from Lax Kw'alaams aboard the Lax Kw'alaams Ferry has the Band Council adding on to the sailing schedule to help address the needs for community members.
August has proven to be a busy travel period for residents of the community north of Prince Rupert with full sailings leaving some to find other arrangements, or wait for a spot on future sailings.
To help relieve some of those pressures, some additional runs have been put in place.
Starting tomorrow and through until September 3rd, the Ferry will be adding to its transit between Tuck Inlet and Areo Point with the list of additional sailings found below:
The call for additional sailings became louder in recent weeks as residents of the community make their plans for shopping ahead of the upcoming school season as well as season travel plans in and out of the community.
You can keep up with any additional sailing notes through the Lax Kw'alaams Social media page.
