Summer skies and temperatures greet August arrival for Shooting Star amusements

The noise and thrills of the midway are back in Prince Rupert with
Shooting Star Amusements in the city until Sunday

The lines were forming early today at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre parking lot, with thrill seekers lining up well before 3 PM this afternoon, all of them ready to take on the range of amusements offered by Shooting Stars Amusements, with the travelling carnival setting up shop overnight for today's opening.

Some familiar rides were at the ready for the growing numbers as the countdown to opening got underway, with the Civic Centre lot featuring many familiar themes from past appearances.

The midway is open through to Sunday, with Sunny skies in the forecast for the entire stay, something that may make for some conversation for the carnival workers, who have seen some crazy weather patterns from their past visits to the North Coast.

The midway is Open and ready for thrill seekers in Prince Rupert

Some additional notes on the Carnival can be found through their Social media stream.

With the Carnival in place for the next four days, the City of Prince Rupert has announced a number of changes to the Civic Centre access, including limited parking and a reroute for the BC Transit service to the Civic Centre.

If you enjoy these next four days of fun in the Sun, you can follow Shooting Stars on the road, they have two more stops in place on the schedule for the northwest before the end of the month.
