Potential for Record Breaking rainfall theme for Special Weather Statement issued for Prince Rupert, North Coast, Terrace and Kitimat

Yes, you're right, it looks like Summer is over in Prince Rupert.

After a few weeks of spectacular summer heat and sun, Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement to advise that a change is coming and coming fast.

The advisory notes of an extended period of heavy rainfall with up to 200mm of rain to come as part of an Atmospheric River expected to last through to Tuesday.

The anticipated rainfall is expected to bring potential record breaking amounts of rainfall.
