The Charles Hays Rainmakers found that extra gear on Friday to claim their first victory at a hard fought week of Provincials battles, with the Prince Rupert side coming out at the top end of a 76-57 decision over Kootenay River.

The Day Three action which featured an early start that did not impact on the team what so ever, provided  a sample of the high octane offence that the Rainmakers bring to their games, their play dominating at both ends of the court.

For the second game in a row, the Makers were led once again by Tyler Bomben with 32 points in a another strong performance.

The Charles Hays offence was assisted by strong contributions from  Josh Aparicio with 22 points and Caleb Tait with 15.

From the opening tip off to the final buzzer, the Rainmakers were convincing in their resolve to keep the pressure on their Kootenay Opposition.

The strong offensive game assisted by a shut down defensive play, particularly in the third quarter, that offered few chances for the Kooteny aide to consider a comeback.

The Charles Hays Tournament experience wraps up this afternoon at 1PM when the Rainmakers take on Khalsa School on the B side of the event for final standing rankings.

The Big Show for the 2A tournament comes later this afternoon when Collingwood and Brentwood College hit the court in the Division finale at 2:45 PM

The path to the finals for Brentwood College came with a highly entertaining match up with the Rainmakers on opening day.
