Registration period for Adventures in the Port of Prince Rupert coming up this Friday

A well received initiative in the community which introduces High School students in Prince Rupert to the career opportunities available on the Prince Rupert Waterfront is taking registrations for this years program.

The Adventures in the Port of Prince Rupert experience enters its eighth year in 2024, a three day field trip of sorts for local students to explore the jobs that make up the Northwest Gateway to the world.

Coordinated by the Prince Rupert Port Authority, the project offers tours for students of a range of local terminals and services that make for the marine shipping footprint from Canada's North Coast port..

This year's adventures will take place from May 14-16

The program which is part of a partnership with Community Futures and the Prince Rupert Rotary Club has grown from its early roots and in a number of cases, students that took the tours in years past have gone on to secure work at a number of local employers, launching their careers on the waterfront.

With the Spring Break fast coming up and the Deadline for applications just days away, Charles Hays Secondary relayed some contact information and background to their community this week.
