City of Prince Rupert seeks out contractor for Street Sweeping services

The latest call for bids from the City of Prince Rupert is looking to find a contractor to take on the duties of sweeping the 69 kilometres of roads, 4.5 kilometres of highways and four parking lots that the city operates in the civic boundary.

Among those expanded Parking areas are the Civic Centre lot, that at the Lester Centre and the Seal Cove lot adjacent to the Salt March recreation area.

The City's call for interest was posted to the BC Bid website on Tuesday and has an extensive list of items included in the scope of services for the successful bidder.


The timeline towards the contract award has a closing date of April 5th, Contact Award of April 10th.


Once awarded, the street sweeping would get underway  on April 11th, , with the work to be completed by May 31st.

It's not noted in the Bid package as to any change for the city's own year round sweeping program. 

The larger contract award likely one to just limited to the short window of the Spring Clean up work noted.
