The rolling nightly closures for the Emergency Department at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital marks it's Fifth consecutive night tonight, with Northern Health issuing an advisory at 5 PM, noting that the facility will note be available between 11 PM tonight and 8 AM Thursday
As has been the case since Friday March 8th, the challenges of physician coverage remain the issue for Northern Health.
From the Advisory:
If you have an emergency: People in Prince Rupert and area who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e. chest pains, difficulty breathing, or severe bleeding) should call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facilityAny time services are interrupted, our partners in patient transfer and local health services are notified and signage will be in place at the hospital informing patients to call 9-1-1 for transport.Earlier today, the City of Prince Rupert and Mayor Herb Pond issued statements related to the ongoing situation at the Hospital,

2 ambulances and 2 police vechiles spotted at Cranes Crossing today. Wonder since being established, how many first responders have attended that area? It’s a common occurrence, that’s definitely putting a strain on an already broken system.
