Lax Kw'alaams makes appointments to Settlement Trust membership


The Lax Kw'alaams Band Council has filled out the roster of those that will be part of the Trustees involved in the Band Settlement Trust Agreement process. 

The Band  announcing today that Joanne Finlay and Michelle Bryant-Gravelle will join the five member group.

Their appointments add their names to the roster which includes those elected by acclamation in the November 2024 election: Danella Angus, Corrina Morhart and Lisa Girbav.

 The Lax Kw’alaams Settlement Trust Agreement governs the Trust, and outlines the appointment and replacement of Trustees, and consists of 5 Trustee positions. The newest appointees will serve a two year term of office.



The Lax Kw’alaams Indian Band Settlement Trust was established as a result of a Settlement Agreement (October 2002) between the First Nation and Canada relating to the loss of its unsurrendered interest in the southern portion of Tsimpsean Indian Reserve 2.
