What BC Hydro has planned ahead when it comes to adding capacity to the Northwest power grid will be the topic for a number of Open Houses across the Highway 16 corridor next week.
The public engagement program is following up on the Hydro Corporations plans for upgrades to the Glenannan to Terrace Transmission line.
We outlined the latest notes towards that project earlier this week.
Next week residents in the areas of six communities will have their chance to learn first hand how the project will unfold over the next decade.
To register for a virtual event, email BC Hydro at projects@bchydro.com by March 19.
The two virtual events take place as follows:
Thursday, March 21
6:30 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, March 26 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, March 26 6:30 to 8 p.m.
As the transmission line project work ends in Terrace; there is no Prince Rupert engagement session towards this project.
BC Hydro also notes that Early engagement with our Indigenous partners on PGGT and GTTT is also underway and this aligns with our commitment to co-design the project environmental review and explore Indigenous co-ownership of the proposed new transmission lines, as well other means of Indigenous participation.
More on the project can be reviewed here.
