CIHL Championship to be claimed this weekend as Terrace heads to Williams Lake

The Cameron Kerr Trophy will be handed over
to either the Terrace River Kings or Williams Lake
Stampeders this weekend

For the Terrace River Kings and Williams Lake Stampeders, the long 2024 CIHL Season comes to a close this weekend .

And with the sound of the final horn, the River Kings will be hoping that they have closed out their quest for the Championship on Saturday night. On the other side of the centre, line, the  Williams Lake Stampeders will be digging into the ice to extend things to Sunday.

The River Kings head into the weekend with a 1 game to none lead in the Best of Three CIHL Final, that following a strong effort on home ice last weekend, where they topped the Stamps 3-2.

The score an indiction as to how well the two teams match up, with the prospect of much the same to come over the next 48 hours in the Cariboo city.

And while the weekend means the end of their CIHL work, both teams still have some hockey ahead of them, whichever team comes out as league champs.

Both Terrace and Williams Lake will move on to the Coy later this month, this year's competition taking place in Powell River, where the Regals are hosting the 2024 Senior Men's Championship.

You can review some of the Coy Cup plans underway from the Powell River Regal social media page.
